The Manvel Police Department is hosting its first-ever Teen Citizen Police Academy for high school students! This program offers an immersive educational experience that allows teenagers to learn about law enforcement and the inner workings of a police department. Teen Citizen Police Academy will take place June 19 - 23 from 8 am to 12 pm at Manvel City Hall, 20031 Morris Ave.
The academy will cover patrol procedures, DWI investigations, criminal investigations, traffic stops and crashes, and the drone program. Students will be taught by experienced police officers who will share their knowledge and expertise with the teens. Participants will be offered the opportunity to ride along with a police officer and see firsthand how law enforcement officers carry out their duties.
To be considered for the program, students must be enrolled in high school between 9th and 12th grade and be a part of the Alvin Independent School District (AISD).
Teen Citizen Police Academy is a fantastic opportunity for teenagers interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or for those simply wanting to learn more about the field. The program is also a great way to build community relationships between law enforcement and young people.
Apply for the Teen Citizen Police Academy online or download the application PDF. Space is limited, so interested students are encouraged to apply soon.
