Permits Department

A permit is required for any construction, change in use or occupancy, alteration, and/or repair of any structure, building, or building system including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems. If in doubt, please contact the Permits Department for more information. All contractors must be registered with the City before commercial and residential permits can be obtained. Credit card payments to the Permit Department can be made online with MyGov, on the telephone, or in person at City Hall, and check or cash payments can be made in person at City Hall. There is a 3% convenience fee for all credit card payments.

All inspection requests are scheduled on MyGov by 5 pm for inspections the following day.

To request a pre-construction meeting, fill out the Pre-Construction Meeting Request Form. Pre-Construction meetings are held on Tuesday mornings and are scheduled based on availability.
